User Reviews for AquaDuck
My daughter is 5 months old and 1 week, she loves the duck, I think right now she is more concerened on trying to put the ducks feet and hands in her mouth then focused on the water toys , but she does like it. I do think you have to be careful , I can see where a baby who cannot keep there head lifted, unsupervised could suffocate possibly.
Its a cute toy , and I think my baby will just grow into this toy more and more.
The first few times I tried this it didn\'t hold my daughter\'s attention at all. ( I bought it at 6 mos) She watched the fish move for a few seconds and went on to something else. There really is nothing for her to hold on to, that lights up or makes noise so it doesn\'t seem to amuse her for long. I do think that this is a toy that requires supervision. My daughter does like to bury her face in the plastic. I could see that being a risk of suffocation if you left your child unattended. Weeks later I pulled this toy out again and she batted at the fish for a few minutes. It remains to be seen whether she will grow to like this toy more as she gets older. I would say that there are probably better toys on the market for your money.
Everyone, please read the manufacturer\'s recommended age! It is 6 months to 2 years. One reviewer bought it for a 3 month old and one for a six month old who clearly wasn\'t ready.
The item itself is made well, is bright, and functions as it is supposed to. We can\'t give low ratings to an item simply because our child doesn\'t like it.
As for the safety, we should always watch our children when playing with any toy that they may lay on, put in their mouth, could possibly bury their face. Children love to interact with their environment, but we can\'t look at toys as babysitters.
My 5 month old daughter loves the duck. She is amazed by the shapes moving in the water. It keeps her entertained. I stay right with her while she is playing with it though.
